Kashmiri Or Bengali Presidential Candidate for AMUSU

It is not an exaggeration to say that Aligarh Muslim University nurtures the best politicians of the world than Academicians or Scientists. Politics is not merely the name of contesting elections but it touches every sphere of our lives namely Media, Academics, Business. From the day of Aligarh's establishment, it aims to promote Political Activism among the Muslims of India. Sir Syed Ahmad Khan established Siddon Club, later known as Student Union, for the promotion of Activism among the Students of Mohammedan Anglo Oriental College and later Aligarh Muslim University. It is also said to be a proposer of Two Nation Theory. This University gave many prominent Muslim faces to Indian Politics. Any kind of Political Commotion in Aligarh Muslim University has direct effect on Indian Politics. Student Union of AMU promoted many young political activist since its establishment.
I personally supported many candidates in the elections during my stay in Aligarh from 2005 to 2013, then I left to Bombay. Surprisingly, I rejoined AMU with a gap of two years. In those days of my stay, I believed in Regionalism. I supported many candidates of my lobby only because my lobby backed up their candidature. It never mattered to me whether these candidates are worth for University or not. I was a Blind Follower of Ghettoised Lobby. Luckily, I got an opportunity to jump across Katthpula and Aligarh Railway Station. I travelled a long distance of India and eventually, experienced a lot in these two years of my travel and visited many Universities like Jawahar Lal Nehru University, Delhi University, Jamia Millia Islamia, Osmania University, Heydrabad Central University, Ambedkar University, Punjabi University, Indian Institute of Technology, Indian Institute of Sciences and many more. It proved me a turning point in my political understating.
Having experience of Rural, Tribal areas or Kashmir, Now I can understand the problems of a Kashimiri, or a Dalit. Narrowly speaking, Muslims all over India have same state as compared to Dalits. Both are being victimised of Brahmanism. Arrested many times by Indian Police on the charges of Suspected Terrorist and later being acquitted after many years in Jail. Kashmiri and Bengali Muslims are being arrested in the name of Bengla Deshi Ghuspethiya in Bengal and Militants in Kashmir. I have no doubt on the reasons of these attacks on Mulims by Hindutvised Police and Army, and the reasons are very simple in my opinion. It is a lack of leadership among the Kashmiri and Bengali Muslims. Kashmir's current leaders are either puppets of political parties or hungry of powers. They have little or no sympathy over what is happening in Valley. Same is the situation with Bengali Muslims, they do not have leaders either, or have less courageous representatives or puppets. Bengal is ruled by Communists many years but gave no security to Muslims.
Having described the situations, now you may question how Aligarh is responsible for the attacks on Kashmiris and Bengalis. Yes, In My opinion, AMUSU is indirectly responsible for these attacks. AMUSU, as being the guardian of Indian Muslim Political Thinkers gave no Young Political Leaders from Kashmir or Bengal in recent elections of many years. Whatsoever the reasons are, I must say our local problems of Regionalism and Lobbies, led to many killings in Kashmir. Isn't it our duty to give a young Kashmiri or Bengali Aligarian Leader to Bengali or Kashmiri Politics? Must not we give an Activist from AMU who can raise the issues of atrocities on Muslims by Centre or enslaved state governments. Are we not witness of Courage of an Aligarian? Let an Aligarian speak in Bengal's or Kashmir's Assembly or in Parliament. There are many faces in Kashmir, Bengal or Assam from Aligarh but are you satisfy of what they are doing. I am thinking it is a high time to think of a paradigm shift in Indian Politics through AMUSU's platform.
Moreover, I am very disappointed to see the current trend of AMUSU's Elections. It seems to me that Chair's elections are preplanned by lobbies. To say, I witness the chair of President by a Bihrai or sometimes a general student like Shahzad Alam Barni or Abdullah Azzam recently but still it has question on these two or including Abdul Hafiz Gandhi are the faces of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar (or Jharkhand), why not a general student from Kashmir, Bengal, Kerala, Karnataka, Rajasthan, etc. Do these people not need an Aligarian Political Leader. Let's talk about Other Chairs, it has become trend to give Vice- President someone from Eastern Uttar Pradesh or NRSC, and A Secretary from Western Uttar Pradesh or Vice-Versa.
A report of The Hindu said that almost a decade after Sachchar report, 80 per cent of Muslim households depend on manual labour for livelihood or members of one fifth of the households are illiterate. Approximately, Muslims constitute 25-26 per cent of Bengal population, that is one in four persons is a Muslim in the State. While Bengal has almost no record of large-scale communal violence over decades, the socio-economic condition of the community has not improved. The Prime Minister-appointed Sachar Committee placed Bengal in the category of “worst” performing States.
Bengali leadership has shown its worst in state. Giving no rise to the socio-economic condition of Bengali Muslims, there demands a new political face of Msulims. I believe we the students of Aligarh Muslim University who have no sympathy towards lobbies must join hand and promote a Bengali Leadership. Or else, Lobby of any region can choose their candidates from Bengal or Kashmir or any state where Muslims are in worst condition, for instance, Chhatisgarh, Rajasthan or Oddisha. I am very clear on my point that in the coming election of AMUSU, I will support and campaign for any Non-Hindi candidate.
